John Gregory has been integral in strengthening our community connections and advancing collaborative efforts that support mental health and addiction education in our region. Our Suncoast Informational Booklet is made available through Samaritans. We are building stronger networks of support and promoting hope, eduction and recovery.

The Duvall Institute at the University of South Florida (USF), chaired by Dr. Dane Minnick, has formed a collaborative partnership with the Suncoast Institute on Chemical Dependency (SICD) to strengthen behavioral health education and community engagement across the
Sarasota–Manatee region.This partnership represents a meaningful step toward aligning
academic expertise with community needs, ensuring that local residents affected by substance use disorder receive informed, coordinated, and compassionate support.

Project 180 is a Florida-based nonprofit dedicated to helping formerly incarcerated individuals successfully reenter society. Through programs such as workforce education, financial literacy training, reentry support, and residential recovery housing, Project 180 equips returning citizens with the tools they need to rebuild their lives, find meaningful employment, and become thriving members of the community.

Teen Court of Sarasota, Inc. provides students ages 8-18 with educational youth development activities that are designed to meet the specific needs of at-risk youth and student volunteers. In an attempt to make the community safer by reducing juvenile delinquency, all youthful participants become engaged in activities tailored to confront the many challenges facing youth in Sarasota County. The philosophical framework of our services is to offer educational classes and intervention services that unquestionably transform the lives of young people. By providing young people with ways they can make positive change in both their community and in their own lives, they become active participants in finding solutions for problems that impact their community.
